5 Easy Steps towards Zero-Waste

Fortunately, the subject of the environment is being represented properly in the media, and so is the subject of going zero-waste, and of course, many of you are wondering how can one go zero-waste, the following steps will help you maintain this kind of lifestyle:

Bring your own water bottle: this is a great idea and a major step towards zero-waste, since single-use plastic water bottles are one of the greatest causes of accumulated waste in landfills, moreover, other than the ecological advantages of having a reusable water bottle, is that they are prettier than a plastic water bottle.

Keep a set of stainless steel cutlery: instead of using single-use spoons and forks that will most likely, if not sure, will end up thrown away and will harm the environment, you can bring your own that can be used over and over again.

Use old pieces of cloths for cleaning: instead of getting rid of old clothes by throwing them away, causing even more damage to the environment due to the indestructible materials found in clothes, we can use them as paper towels in the kitchen or any surface.

Say NO to plastic straws: we all know by now how harmful are plastic straws to marine life, and the solution for that is either stainless steel or paper straws, though stainless steel straws are not that widespread in Jordan; but there are some coffee shops that offer paper straws that can be recycled.Bring your own reusable containers and bags: this practice is encouraged at many supermarkets in Jordan, many of them offer reusable bags and discourage the use of plastic bags with the aim of saving the environment.
