They say „education gives you knowledge, “«while adding that „knowledge and not education is the key to success“. ». Therefore, the conventional pattern concludes the following „: Education is in fact they base of success“, », that is if special cases, such as, Jack Ma‘s are overlooked.
Although the Lebanese Lebanese program has changed evolved a number of times throughout the past past few years, the system remains quite conventional. In contrast, the world went through a great evolution that never ceased to continue. In grade 9, the Lebanese Lebanese students have to pass a national exam that constitutes most of the subjects learned at school. It‘s French term is „«Le Brevet Libanais“. ». In 2019 unlike the former year, most students faced several difficulties unless they studied literally day and night. In some schools in that country, Arabic isn’t profoundly taught compared to other Arabic Arab countries. «„ We never knew who Khalil Tae Taki el-Ddin was because we never learned about him, so it was harder for us to answer some questions“ », said Clara, a 15 year old student for her testimony about the Arabic Arabic exam. That is an example of the hardships students go through when having to deal with an old, and more importantly, conventional educational system that may lack a few main yet minimal information.
On the other hand, there are some centers in Lebanon where certain subjects are taught unconditionally. These subjects involving leadership as well as several types of art. Two main institutions serving serve as examples can be named: Beyond Learning and TUMO. The first encourages the Lebanese Lebanese youth to participate in all sorts of community work for a better Lebanon; it even has a successful yearly annual summer camp that teaches the values of a true leader named called: „We. Lead“. The program selects young citizens with leadership potential. During the camp they learn how to work in teams and end up being a big family that backs up each of its members other. The second named is an activity center that focuses on teaching the student by focusing on high technological material and self-sufficiency. Teamwork is once again involved in the most unconventional way. Finally, both institutions are evolving as well as spreading wildly. That fact alone is a success story.
Lastly finally, if the fail proof stability is compared between the conventional and unconventional way of learning in Lebanon, the latter stated is the potential winner. This proves that unconventional education leads to great success.
In conclusion, the conventional education system, at least in Lebanon, is a proper example of James Stockdale’s quote stating “: «The challenge of education is not to prepare a person for success, but to prepare him for failure.” ». Failure is indeed the first attempt in learning yet, too much of it will push a student to have a lower self-self-esteem, reaching a point where he or she will believe that he or she is unsuccessful, with a result of quitting or even worse. Therefore, unconventional education that encourages the student to keep moving forward after every failure is the true milestone to a success story.
