One thing I live by is never ask a stranger for help; or believe them if they asked for help. Why?
“You need help?” was the technique used by one of the most infamous serial killers, Theodore Robert Bundy (known as Ted Bundy). He used to approach his victims this way, and ultimately murder them.
Bundy was an American serial killer who kidnapped, raped and murdered a numerous number of people, mostly young women and girls, during the 1970s and even earlier. Ted’s family has a complicated history, his mom Eleanor Louise Cowell was 22 years old, and single ,when she gave birth to Theodore, his father may have been Lloyd Marshall or Jack Worthington, but others say that his real father was also his grandfather, because Burdy’s birth certificate lists his father as “unknown”, which means that his biological father was never confirmed. Bundy was raised as the adopted son of his grandparents. Three-years-old Ted showed interest in knives while other kids his age showed interest in cars and balls. A darker side of his personality started to appear while he was growing up, stealing was normal in the eyes of this teenager. Despite everything he was a gifted smart kid, he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology. Many of his victims resembled his college ex-girlfriend who was an attractive Californian girl with long dark hair.
Theodore has confessed to 36 killings of young women across several states, but experts believe that the number of women he has killed may be closer to 100 or more. There was a specific pattern that his killings followed, he often raped his victims before beating them to death. Ted used to exploit the kindness of the women he raped by asking for their help pretending to be injured.
In conclusion, in my opinion Theodore is one of the most underrated criminals whose story should be spread to raise awareness among women and young girls.
